Friday!

FRIDAY!
Working the weekly grind, we all need a chance to go unwind
Friends all gather ‘round, its time to set all your troubles down
A single Mom juggling many lives
Wondering if she’ll ever make it through the day
The dark suit stiffs on the subway train
Climbing up the ladder now—what price will they pay?
Our soldiers scattered all across the globe
Duty, honor, country calls—serving the USA
The week is done, we’ve made it to the end
Its time to shake the trees, what do you say?
Its Friday, Friday—we’re gonna party, party
I said its Friday, Friday—we’re gonna party, party
We’re gonna party down
We’re gonna kick on back, open up the tap, and just forget about the fray
Come on and let it out, let there be no doubt, its time to loosen up and play
We’re gonna crank it up, until we feel the pump, we’re gonna dance the world away
We’re gonna make the rhyme, totally freeze in time, we’re gonna celebrate today
TGIF—Friday!
Blue-collar rust belt men working on the line
Never knowing when their job may go away
The red-eyed college prep with a heavy load
Will they ever find a balance between study, work, and play?
All of us in our hurried lives
Stop for just a moment and just hold it all at bay
Our job is done so let’s get busy now
Its time to light the fuze and get blown away
Its Friday, Friday—we’re gonna party, party
I said its Friday, Friday—we’re gonna party, party
Gonna let our hair down

MUSICAL CRISIS
What's up with my soul?
Looking around, where did it go?
Got to kick out and make things right
Searching for the spark that will lead to a re-ignite
Haven't a clue, I feel so lifeless
Please help me through my musical crisis
I'm crawling--I'm walking--I'm running
Right over the edge
Spending my days balanced on a wire
So much more to do and even more to inspire
Display my heart on the canvas
Got to break free from all the madness
Pull off the mask and expose the righteous
Please help me through my musical crisis

Rainy Saturday

RAINY SATURDAY
When the rains come in
And the wind completes the song
And the clouds shout out a whisper to come along
This rustic cabin, warm
Offers to me a place to hide
With old familiar comforts by my side
In the peaceful moments of this rainy day
All the burdens that I carry seem to wash away
God’s teardrops soothing sounds tell me that I’m not alone
Another rainy Saturday takes me home
Now I feel as though I’m free
That it is right for me to be
And the voices of the storm
Don’t seem to disagree
Now that everything is right
And there is nothing left to fight
These gentle dreams
Take me into the night
As the calm sets in
Creates a warmness in your heart
Brings forth new hope for another start
Like a soft embrace
These simple graces are believed
This place and time a cherished gift to be received
In the peaceful moments of this rainy day
All the burdens that I carry seem to wash away
On the day’s other side, life’s joys sunshine will be shown
But for now this rainy Saturday takes me home

5 Walls

5 WALLS
No way out….
Inside 5 walls, the hammer falls
Marching to the drum of the establishment
Giant screens, intense scenes
Do the ends truly justify the means?
In the E ring reign the power kings
Where flowing dollars turn into a tidal wave
Conference calls and marble halls
Secrets locked inside for only few to see
Inside these concrete walls
Inside these 5 walls
Those within want out
Those without want in
At the stroke of a pen another cycle begins
No way out….
Crisis action teams, global data streams
The faithful do their time to help the greater good
Desert tans, complex war plans
Power to shape an opposition’s destiny
Are they wise or just in disguise?
The leaders push until there's no more blood to give
Purple fountains, paper mountains
The big machine keeps rolling only faces change
Inside these storied walls
Inside these 5 walls
